| Terry was born in Harlan, Kentucky on March 18th, 1956. During his youth he lived with his grandmother who taught him to play the guitar. He was soon singing and playing in church when he was so little they had to stand him on a stool so he would be seen from behind the pulpit. When he was 11 years old, he saw the Elvis movie "Loving You" and from that moment on he wanted to be like Elvis. He continued to work every day at his singing and he entered and won many talent contests through the years that followed. In 1971 when Terry was 15 years old, he began performing shows as an Elvis Tribute Artist in local clubs and restaurants. This was 7 years before Elvis passed away. At the age of 17, Terry joined the United States Navy. While stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, he went into a night club with some friends who talked him into singing with the club band. The club offered him a job on the spot and this was the beginning of a very successful music career. Some of the many venues where Terry performed his "Dedication to a King" show are as follows although there are absolutely too many to name them all. The Golden Rock in Orlando, Florida The Golden Rock Phoenix, Arizona The Four Seasons in Denver, Colorado The Fountain Blue Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida Jerry Reed's Nashville Palace in Nashville, Tennessee Fitzgerald's in Key West, Florida Astro World Mini-Dome in Houston, Texas The Playgirl Club in Anaheim, California The Mill Hill Club in Cape Cod, Massachusetts The Jerry Lewis National Telethon in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Nevada The Aladdin Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada The Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada The MGM Grand Hotel, Reno, Nevada Captain Bilbo's, Memphis, Tennessee Terry is married and has four children. When he was 28 years old, he made the decision to leave the music business and stay home with his family so that he could be a full time Dad to his children who were then in school. For 24 years, Terry pursued a successful career in Law Enforcement, however; this did not squelch his love for entertaining and for Elvis' Music. Terry's love for music and his community prompted him to start an oldies group called "Flashback" which was made up of himself, his wife and a few other friends who also worked in Law Enforcement. His performances for charity events with "Flashback" and on his own have helped to raise in excess of $150,000.00 through the years. He and his family also sang in church on a regular basis and Terry was the Song Leader in his local church. This allowed Terry to keep his vocal and performance abilities in top condition. Now, Terry's children are grown and on their own and he has retired from Law Enforcement as a Major. The mountains have now called Terry home and he has relocated from Clermont, Florida to the great state of Tennessee. He has returned to performing as an Elvis Tribute Artist full time and his voice and performing abilities are as strong as ever. He is dedicated to performing a high caliber performance each time he takes the stage and he is determined to bring an accurate portrayal of the greatest entertainer that ever lived to his audience. Terry emphasizes that he has never tried to be Elvis Presley but rather desires to keep his memory and music alive to audiences both young and old. |
